Frederick C. Aldrich is credited with first suggesting, during the fall of 1900, the formation of "a club for winter sports to be located somewhere near the center of the village." From inception, The Winter Club's programming has provided athletic and recreational activities for its member families.
At the Winter Club, it is our mission to provide recreational programs, staff, and facilities that encourage the gathering of families, while maintaining a primary focus on the needs of children. It is our goal that the club's youth programs and activities provide positive experiences that focus on skill development, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for others while maintaining a primary focus on long-term character and social development.
The Preschool has been a very important part of the Winter Club tradition for over fifty years. All of our classes offer children an environment in which they can grow and thrive.
Our philosophy embraces the idea that children learn by doing. We present opportunities and materials that are fun and interesting for our youngest students, yet challenging and stimulating for our older students.
For over one hundred years the Winter Club has been a place for young hopefuls to hit the ice the old fashioned way.
Today, the Winter Club serves as the home to a competitive travel hockey program, as well as fielding several house league teams and offering a comprehensive Learn to Skate program for all ages in both Hockey and Figure Skating.
We are pleased to offer a wide variety of programs to members of all ages and skill levels, including tennis, pickleball, camps, classes, juniors programs and private lessons.
Our pool staff is dedicated to delivering the best possible aquatics experience for you and your family.
All of our camp counselors are selected for their experience and special interest in working with children. They are required to attend training prior to the start of camp. Our goal is to provide your child with only the best camp experience!
